چکیده

SNOMEDCT stands for the SystematizedNomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms, and consists of comprehensive scientifically validated content. SNOMED CT is available in more than 50 countries and has been adopted as the standard clinical terminology for the NHS in England’. Issues in Mapping LOINC Laboratory Tests to SNOMED CT

Comprehensive clinical terminologies such as SNOMED CT tend to overlap with specialized terminologies such as LOINC (e.g., for the domain of laboratory procedures). Terminological systems such as the UMLS are often used to bridge between terminologies. However, the integration of LOINC in the UMLS and with other terminologies remains suboptimal. We mapped concepts for laboratory tests from LOIN...

Assisting the Translation of SNOMED CT into French using UMLS and four Representative French-language Terminologies

OBJECTIVE To provide a semantics-based method to assist the translation of SNOMED CT into French. To do so, we selected four French-language terminologies: ICD-10, SNOMED International, MedDRA, MeSH, as they are dedicated to different uses - epidemiology, clinical medicine, adverse reactions, medical literature, respectively - in order to map them to SNOMED Clinical Terms (CT), and thus associa...

Research Paper: Using SNOMED CT to Represent Two Interface Terminologies

OBJECTIVE Interface terminologies are designed to support interactions between humans and structured medical information. In particular, many interface terminologies have been developed for structured computer based documentation systems. Experts and policy-makers have recommended that interface terminologies be mapped to reference terminologies. The goal of the current study was to evaluate ho...

Inheritance of SNOMED CT Relations between Concepts by two Health Terminologies (SNOMED International and ICD-10)

The situation of medical coding and medical economics is quite specific in France. Besides ICD10, two specific terminologies are used: the International Nomenclature of Human and veterinary Medicine (SNOMED International) developed by the College of American Pathologists and CCAM. This work aims at creating and optimizing inter and intra terminology relations between ICD-10 and SNOMED Int. As 9...
